How to Navigate Thanksgiving When Single?
It’s Thanksgiving. Let’s Eat.
40 million turkeys are cooked on Thanksgiving Day in America.
We enjoy a day off. We eat, nap, and watch football. Thanksgiving is an American holiday that happens every year on the fourth Thursday of November since 1862. It’s a holiday filled with family and friends. I have so many great memories of going to grandma’s house eating turkey ,and of course ,homemade rolls. Growing up in a large extended family was fun especially since all of us cousins were close in age and location living in western Washington.
This year is different though. Not that we won’t eat turkey and pumpkin pie, but that Most of us won’t be attending gatherings with extended family this year. Just when you thought 2020 was a complete isolation year, you now have to celebrate during a time that is rich with family tradition all alone.
With most states banning gatherings with people outside your household, what does that look like if your household is one person. For all those single people out there that live alone and have little to no human interaction even before COVID it’s now even harder. When people say celebrate with your household or with your immediate family, what are you supposed to do.?
